Insurance for canadian students

Why do I need Student Medical Insurance?

If you’re a Canadian student leaving to study abroad, the last thing on your mind should be the high cost of medical services. Protect yourself from the financial burdens by adding Groupe Foyo’ Student Medical Insurance to your list of school supplies. Most schools require you to have a medical insurance plan before you begin your classes, and your provincial health insurance plan won’t cover you for much while studying abroad.
Don’t get caught without medical insurance—it could cost you more than your education.

Real-life example
A teenager from Abbotsford, BC was on a school exchange program in Mexico. While riding in a vehicle driven by his home-stay parent, they were forced to swerve out of the path of an oncoming vehicle. The student was thrown from the car and sustained life-threatening injuries. His mother flew down to be with him, as soon as she heard of the accident, and spent two weeks in Mexico until her son was well enough to travel home.

Without Student Medical Insurance, his out–of–pocket costs would have totalled: $71,209.54
